In Oval Tripod I wanted to bring together the modernist tradition of sculpture such as the work of Barbara Hepworth and the Geometry of Fear group and the the world of Disney and movies. Science Fiction and the tripod sculptures of Chadwick and Butler are references. The bowel oval is form the Arp / Hepworth biomorphic school. In the use of bronze for the legs I was thinking about Disneyland.
