Commissioned by Workspace Management Plc for Quality Court, Chancery Lane, London, this sculpture was carved from a solid block of Kilkenny limestone. A steel rod in the stone is bolted to a bearing system hidden under the floor panels. The piece can be rotated easily by hand.
The client wanted a dynamic sculpture to energise the space. This offered me the opportunity to do a vertical stone mobile. Also I wanted to make the most open spiral form possible. Here stone is pushed to its limits.
