I curated an exhibition at the Chelsea Physic Garden in 2012 and wanted to make a sculpture for the show. Inspired by SME imagery of the reproductive parts of plants I found the fuscia whose stamen of was similar to human reproductive organs. This was discovered by the first botanist sin the 17 th C. But the idea was too shocking so they named plant organs with Latin names. I made the sculpture based on this. Subsequently I altered the sculpture removing the top.
